Car insurance customers advised to get breakdown cover
Drivers are being urged to protect themselves fully as the risk of a claim is greatly increased in the current freezing weather, according to MoneySupermarket.com.
Car insurance customers should ensure that they have breakdown cover as part of their policies in the present wintry conditions. In recent weeks a ‘big freeze’ has descended on the UK, with heavy snow falling in various parts of the country and temperatures dropping far below normal for this time of year. This has resulted in hazardous driving conditions, particularly with the threat of black ice after the latest round of snowfall.
MoneySupermarket.com has now recommended that drivers check their policies for breakdown cover, especially as their vehicles are more likely to experience problems in icy weather. Head of motor insurance, Steve Sweeney, said: ” Comprehensive motor breakdown cover is a must for motorists to avoid being stranded in the cold. I advise Brits to make regular checks to their vehicles before driving to avoid being a victim of a breakdown.”
