Comparison website comments on Zurich car insurance increase

A rise of 20 per cent in the premiums on car insurance from Zurich has not come as a surprise, according to Confused.com.

Will Thomas, head of motor at the price comparison site, commented: “I was not shocked by the substantial increase in the cost and that the question is now which provider will be the next to follow suit.”

Mr Thomas blamed factors such as the year-on-year increase in personal injury claims for the rise in prices. Confused.com recommends that its consumers shop around for the best price on car insurance and not to automatically renew their policy each year as they could save money by comparing the other options available to them.

As a result of the adverse weather conditions of recent weeks, motorists were advised by Confused.com to make sure they have adequate breakdown cover, as not having the right insurance cover could result in expensive roadside repairs . Read full post…
