Aon reworks terrorism map
For the first time in its 10-year history, Aon’s annual Terrorism Threat Map takes into account political violence, strikes and war.
The 2011 edition, renamed the Aon Terrorism and Political Violence Map, shows increased risk of political violence in the Middle East and North Africa, reflecting the Arab Spring uprisings, and takes into account civil unrest and labor disputes arising from austerity measures in Western Europe.
Meanwhile, terrorism continues to afflict established conflict zones including Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Somalia, as well as parts of Nigeria and the Sahel region.
The map is produced in collaboration with the security consultancy firm, Janusian, using data recorded by Terrorism Tracker and Aon WorldAware, which provides country risk information for business travellers. <
